Hooray! I am finally home from my summer-long camp job.
I've spent the last couple of days recuperating from it. I think I'm still in the mindset that I'll be going back...that and I'm not yet used to being home again. So I guess I'm in limbo, hehe.
I just did a full sweep of the Quilting Bee forum and got as caught up on the new things as I could. There are so many changes happening! I'm so excited, yay! By tomorrow I hope to have my quilt updated and all trades taken care of. I just can't wait to get back in the game.
Last week, when I was frustrated with the flaky internet at camp, I picked up The Sims Life Stories on a Walmart trip. I'd been seeing advertising for it online and had never really understood its purpose really. The description didn't clarify what the game was really about, which was kind of confusing. But I figured out that you could play the Sims in "story mode", meaning it was kind of like a campaign of events in the Sim's life that you had to follow to further the "story" along.
My opinion? It's not that amazing, unless I'm missing something. There are only two "stories" you can play in the entire game, the rest is pretty much just free play, like the regular Sims games. The stories themselves take only a couple hours each to complete, hardly worth the $30 it costs in my opinion. After you finish the stories, all you can do is play the normal game! None of the Sims 2 expansions work for it, so it really just ends up being a basic copy of the Sims 2.
I keep thinking I'm missing something. I had hoped that more stories would be unlocked as you played the first two, because to unlock the second story you had to play through the first. But nope.
Anyone else play this game or know about additional features I might have missed?
Ok, time to go overhaul my quilt and get back to the web!
Yay!

Hey Melissa! You know, I’ve been looking at that Sims Life Stories for a while and I wasn’t sure what the purpose was either. That’s rather disappointing though
How do the stories unfold? Do you just play their characters and make them do what they want?
I think possibly part of the point of it is that it’s a lighter version, meant for… really old computers? and laptops.
I don’t know why you’d need, that, I have the regular and all of the EPs except seasons on my laptop — and I’m doing fine… But who knows. It wouldn’t have fit on my old one, thats for sure.
But I think I read somewhere that that was the point of it. Hm.
PS: there is also a sims pets stories, I do believe. :game:
I’ve started making my own Sims clothing. I’m not ready to try my hand at furniture yet but my Sims are happily wearing my fashions now, lol.
Haven’t played that yet and probably won’t. I’m pretty happy with the EP’s I have. I know I visit those sites you recommended regularly… hehe.
Ok, lady, it’s time you got well and headed over and hang out with me. Yes, yes, boredom will happen but that’s just the way it is… No excuses! I can always come visit thee too. Although, always with a toddler in tow. Clayton won’t be back from Florida untill Wednesday. And I’ve a kitty I’m still going to try and give you too.
I bet you just installed Bubs’ myquilt admin 3 didn’t you? :art:
I lay here listening to my hubby snore & I realize I have never played Sims. Never in my life. I think that they do have the game for Play Station… I will check that out now that I finally got a membership at Hollywood Video. I am glad you are back home. I am finally back online. I am a bit lost though as there is no more bbs. Well it’s not up yet.
I just downloaded the game, and I was very disappointed as well. The first storyline is very very easy and not exactly long. I’m now doing the second mission, but as I’m going really fast with that one as well, I almost finished the game. I glad I didn’t spend money on it.
Arien, making Sims clothes? That’s so cool! Can I download them anywhere? My sister is totally obsessed with custom clothes, furniture and houses. She has this whole Regency/Victorian neighbourhood, with women wearing bonnets and men with high hats xD
