So...while i continue to avoid doing my online algebra homework lets answer some memes!
Saturday 8
1. do you have (or have had) a friend that you have desperately tried to get rid of? for me its more like trying to get it through someone's head that i only want to be friends and not more. its not as weird as it used to be, but its taken some muscle on my part to make the "friend" statement.
2. are you one of those people that when you make a decision, you stick with it, even when it comes to calling off a relationship ... or do you get 'sucked back in' when you think it might work? nope, i really suck at that unless the other person makes the decision and sticks to it himself, then i have no choice.
3. are you able to just break things off without a second look? the last time i broke up with someone i did that (1999).
... i somewhat regret it now.
4. when you end a friendship, do you keep mementos from it? well...i haven't ended too many friendship that weren't on the level of just being aquaintences that never really talk anymore. but of those who i have ended it with its kind of hard to get rid of stuff because it was part of your past and all. i still have "green club" memories from two people who now despise me and one who doesn't really talk to me anymore...a couple that i can surprisingly look back on fondly from this girl that i find it hard not to hate....and a couple others.
5. when you end a romantic relationship, do you keep mementos? i completely and utterly made one of the biggest mistakes of my life when i got rid of all the stuff that reminded me of andre and our relationship...i will regret that until the day i die, lol, seriously. but against my own emotions i'm keeping the other stuff i have from the two relationships after that for posterity mostly.
6. when someone ends a relationship with YOU, do you still keep the mementos? well since the last two relationships i described above involved that kind of situation then i guess so.
7. let's talk divorce... i have heard the phrase used by dr. phil that "you have to EARN your way out of a marriage." what circumstances are acceptable to 'giving up the ghost' in a marriage? uh...well, i don't have much experience since i've never been married...but in my beliefs the only grounds that are acceptable for divorce is adultery.
8. if you've ever been married, have you ever had a divorce? if you are not married, what are your thoughts on divorce? ditto #7

i’d keep the precious moments thing dearie…unless it always reminds you of him when you look at it. i have stuff that was given to me by my ex’s (guitar case, sweatshirt, CDs, a coffee mug, etc) that i still have laying around somewhere because there’s no use throwing it out or giving it away when i like it.
hehe…
for example the coffee mug i was referring to was given to me by a guy i dated named Andre and it has the words “may you always have an angel by your side” and then a poem on the back. its the only thing i didn’t get rid of when i made the mistake years ago of throwing away everything that reminded me of him to try and impress my new boyfriend. it sits on my desk holding my pens and pencils. i’m never giving that away.
going back to what i said earlier…keep it unless it reminds you of him too much. and if any new guy tells you that you have to throw it away because it was from an ex then that’s stupid and wrong. i was convinced to do that to Andre’s things by the next boyfriend i had…and i totally regret it. its a part of your life, you can’t give it up so easily.
::huggles:: ^-^
