A Universe Apart

December 7th, 2003

A song inspired by a few memories:

so long ago, so many years
the paths we've traveled change
and seem so different

dancing in laughter and struggling through tears
your heart cannot still be so cold
from moments long forgotten

did you forget the times
that held us up when we were dying
can you remember the words
that helped you carry on?

i will remain your friend
even if you are far away
nothing can replace the piece
you've taken from my heart
in all the battles we have fought
and those we've lost and won
it doesn't matter in the end
even if we are a universe apart

these iron chains, that bind us now
are tearing at my soul
and feel so empty and hopeless

have you forgotten me and everything before
can you not forgive
or see the light

did you forget the times
that held us up when we were dying
can you remember the words
that helped you carry on?

i will remain your friend
even if you are far away
nothing can replace the piece
you've taken from my heart
in all the battles we have fought
and those we've lost and won
it doesn't matter in the end
even if we are a universe apart

even though we are a universe apart...
