Lol, tonight I watched the majority of Conan O'Brien, who is freakin' hilarious by the way.
He and Ben Stiller were doing that funny thing: "
In the year 2000!" Hehe...and I watched Leno before that and he had a little kid who was only about 5 or 6 on his show. This kid was totally adorable and the reason he was a guest was because he is this super-fanatic about dinosaurs and knows oodles of things (we're talking numbers and dates, etc) about them. Leno had him jumping around stage doing dino impressions, it rocked!
And for some reason I still can't go to sleep now so I'll do a re-cap on my day since it was pretty fantastic!
Today was a really really good day! I turned in my 8-page paper for Government class with no stress involved...went to my college bible group and had TONS of laughs...and then finally came home to a message on my answering machine about the summer camp job I applied for! Yes, to those who don't know I was trying to get a job as a counselor at this camp I went to as a kid. I totally love that camp! They called me
Sunny there because I always wore a yellow hat and apparently was pretty cheery.
I had been kind of hoping that the same camp directors that ran the camp when I was younger would still be there...so when I heard the message I kind of had a hunch that at least one of them still worked there because the voice sounded really familiar!
So I call the number back and immediately the
first thing I hear is "Melissa???" I say yes, then realize that the person I'm talking to probably has caller ID, lol....and THEN she says..."Is this Sunny??"...I'm like YES!! I hear her whisper excitedly "Ahhh! It IS her!....Sunny! This is Pokey and I'm talking to Leo on another line!" I just about died when she said that
...those are the camp names of my past camp directors! They're still there! HORAY! I end up talking to Pokey for an hour and a half...reminiscing about camp days and past counselors and people who worked there when I was a camper...it just boggles my mind how she and Leo could remember me after all these years! Leo had gotten my application from the main camp office because I put their specific camp down as a preference...she and Pokey had been wondering if it was really the Melissa (aka Sunny) that they knew from camp way back in the 90s, lol. It's just so awesome! And I got the job! Pokey wants me to come early so I can take her lifeguarding class for counselors and get certified in that and CPR. That'll be good times. I am
so looking forward to this summer! It's gonna be a blast!
