The Early Bird
September 13th, 2004
Here I am, up at the crack of dawn for no apparent reason. I played a computer game (Space Colony) until about 3am and then when I failed at trying to sleep I decided to get some things on my To-Do list crossed off.
Currently the laundry is getting done, I've cleaned my room, organized for classes this week and actually came up with a sort-of exercise plan that involves taking some fitness classes hopefully. Woot!
So now it's just me, a good cup of Starbucks coffee with Irish Creme and the heavenly voice of Frank Sinatra wafting in the air. *Ahhh...*
Thankfully, Ivan has apparently decided to take pity on Florida and not pelt us with another weekend of high winds and rain like his previous passing hurricane siblings. I'm so grateful for this because so many people have lost their homes and businesses, etc, here in this state from the last two battles with the elements. I'm hoping to go volunteer with the Red Cross or my church to help wherever I can when I have time. It is just so sad for some people...I feel pretty blessed to have been safe and dry during the last few weeks.
If you don't live in Florida, but would maybe like to help the Sunshine State get through Mother Nature's latest hectic visit, then please consider donating to the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund! It is definitely worth it, you won't regret helping out a fellow American in need.
The newest feature on my site is the Reviews section! Right now it only lists my reviews for movies, games, books and music, but soon the links will be active for the rest and maybe more when I become inspired. Also in the planning stage is an external blog for my exercise and health food program that I mentioned before. I am determined to get down to the weight I'm supposed to be at for my age. I'm 19 and 5'5" so I should weigh about 130...right now I weigh around 150, so my goal is 20ish pounds. I'm adding an ish on that because with exercising comes muscle and muscle equals weight. I just want to lose the little excess flab I got goin' on.
Hehe.
If any of you are on a diet or exercise plan let me know if it works for you and what you're doing to maintain it and keep yourself motivated! I need all the help I can get.
And if you are the spiritual type please keep your prayers up for the people who got hit hard by the hurricanes, they really need support...also, I forgot to put up a rememberance entry for September 11's three year anniversary date, so I end my post in its memory. Have a happy Monday everyone.

Few years ago, I lost 78lbs. Taking a dog for a long walk helps me alot and drink alots of water with wedge of lemon. Lemon helps to drain the toxic out of your body. It works for me.
Have a great Monday. Deb

Atkins (the real one, not the half-assed “I’ll just eat more bacon” one). Been doing it since New Year’s. Lost 2 dress sizes…not sure how much weight because I didn’t weigh myself in the beginning (way too scared!). But it’s easy to do now, since the whole nation is low carb crazy!
Branille! Aren’t we gonna go to that??? :bouncy:
I agree with Sarah, Atkins all the way!! I lost 32 in 4 months, just be carefull what you eat once you reach your goal. I love your new layout the only thing that I think you forgot is a link of your home page in your top image and I would love to see your guitars!! :bouncy:
I think it’s very sweet of you to have a link up for the Florida Hurricane Relief contributions! I am near Fort Lauderdale (about 25 minutes north) & I lost my power for 5 days & a weeks’ worth of work/pay, but thankfully still have a roof over my head and all family members are healthy & accounted for, thank goodness. I don’t diet, but one of my best friends has been on an Atkins “type” of diet, she takes in no more than 30-40 carbs a day (maybe 50 once in awhile.. and she walks on her treadmill while watching tv every other evening. She has lost 65 pounds over the last 8 months :bouncy:
Heyyyyyyy, Melie!!! It’s your buddy Becky! Woohoo! lol Well. that’s it, really. Hope you’re having a great weekend and that your stress slows down a bit. Miss ya already, and waitin’ for a call sometime when you get home!

Oh hello, lol forgot:
I lost a few pounds this summer, simply by taking long luxurious walks through the wonderful, dirty streets of NY. That, and walking a 150 lb dog through town a few times a week. Also, I think my bro and sister in law ate a little healthier, lol. I am happy with my lost weight, but know that I am going to gain it back fast with all the stress from school and less exercise. I would love to have you as an exercise buddy! Having a partner to walk with and talk with is a major motivation for me. Let me know, ok? But hey! I’m still thinking making us going to NYC for Spring Break a reality! Were you serious about wanting to go?
