I hope everyone had a great NYE! I'm over here, chillin' with my family and drinking great champagne! We watched the ball drop in New York City...and then from our house had a fantastic view of the midwestern horizon as hundreds of fireworks erupted in the night sky...it ROCKED!!!! I just know that 2004 will be a great year...2003 sucked for me (*ahem*) but life rocks, God rocks, and things are lookin' up!Have a great one, lots of hugs and high fives!! WOOHOOOOO!!!!!!
Here's a New Year's survey!
1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before? Graduated, went to the Bahamas on a cruise, moved somewhere without my family, lived somewhere without my family, went four months without seeing my family, got dumped by a guy, reached 1,000,000 Neopoints on Neopets.com, tasted several types of wine, drank champagne, didn't get to see snow *snif*, liked school more than I ever have before (college is BETTER than public school), went to Wal-Mart at 2am, kept fish for pets, actually liked to clean, read all the Harry Potter books, read all the Lemony Snicket books, tormented my sisters...wait...I've always done that...
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Eh, I don't really make those.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope
4. Did anyone close to you die? Nope
5. What countries did you visit? Bahamas
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003? A really close group of friends where I don't have to worry about certain people doing/thinking/feeling/etc certain things...grr...
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Hmm...probably March...no April 13.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting good grades my first semester of college.
9. What was your biggest failure? Getting into a rebound relationship.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Went through a few colds.
11. What was the best thing you bought? Oooh...gotta be my annual pass to Universal. ^-^
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Props to my mother for getting through all of what happened while she was in the hospital in December 2003.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and/or depressed? Two ex-boyfriends, three ex-close friends, and then someone I am currently still aquainted with right now.
14. Where did most of your money go? Bills, DVDs, food, some clothes, concert/theme park tickets and random stuff.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? My 18th birthday road trip to Universal and moving into my apartment for college!
16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2003? Probably all the songs that were on my Mix CDs from that year.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: happier or sadder? Either/or...but I think I'm must happier this year because last year I was in a deteriorating relationship, even though for NYE I went to a open-mike bar with my cousin and had a great time.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Been a little more financially smart...not as dumb when it came to boys...
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Spending money, focusing on what other people think of me...
20. How did you spend Christmas? Mom came home on Christmas Eve and we opened presents from the family (tradition)...then Christmas morning my sisters woke me up to presents from "Santa"...we ate lotsa food, hehe...I'm sure I gained back all that weight I lost a few months ago, lol.

26. What was the best book you read? All of the Harry Potter books were AWESOME.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? I guess the song I wrote on the 2003 Valentines Day, the day I learned alot of horrible stuff about an ex-boyfriend, and then the song after the "one-night stand".
28. What did you want and got? My Special Forces Crest from my Mom, a lovely Old Navy coat, my DVD/VHS player, my Dad's laptop, and some great DVDs.
29. What did you want and not get? An expresso maker, a Wacom drawing tablet, and probably a few other things I can't think of currently.
30. What were the best movies you saw for the first time this year? LOTR 2 and 3, Matrix 2 and 3, X-Men 2...umm...Pirates of the Caribbean, all of Miyazaki's anime films, and probably quite a few more.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were ya? When I turned 18 I road tripped to Universal Studios for a weekend with a bunch of my friends...got a hotel...just partied the good way allll weekend long! It rocked the world! Best birthday since I was 13!
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Probably if I'd been single and out of relationships...that's why I'm not looking into getting into anything with anyone at all right now...the whole stupid dating thing bugs the crap out of me and I'm sick and tired of being tossed around by guys like I don't matter. I'm also sick and tired of people thinking that I have a crush or something when I really don't because there is no one on this freakin' planet right now that I like that way and if you're trying to make me jealous or you have some stupid hope that I'll change my mind then you're WRONG. Ugh, sorry for the rant...I'm just kind of annoyed.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003? Just being me...I look average...I'm not stylish but I'm not unstylish...I'm just me.
34. What kept you sane? *Sigh*...just God.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? No one really.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? Agreeing with Kim...the whole war deal and how unpatriotic people are being...makes me hate to live in this country sometimes.
37. Who did you miss? My family.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003: More than one, here we go....never give pieces of yourself to someone when you're young...never assume things are going to turn out a certain way...never completely trust anyone with the deepest part of you...don't be angry at God for problems in your life...don't get too frustrated over petty things...be as laid back as you can but don't waste time...never get involved with someone right after a break up...NEVER GET INTO A LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP (been in four of them, I know what I'm talking about)...never believe that your most hurtful discomfort is the worst in the world, remember that even though you cry so many tears for a painful situation there is someone else out there in the world who is suffering more deeply...never take friends for granted...never trust boys who like to hold your hand the first day they meet you...never keep drinking just because they keep filling your glass...never pray when your heart isn't in it...never be discouraged if no one is listening to you in the present, there are always one or two people in the future who will...never tear up momentos that weren't meant to be destroyed...never fall for your best friend's significant other...don't buy so many things that aren't useful...don't make promises you can't keep...never trust someone who lies to you just because they don't want to upset you...I will never shut my child outside in the cold because I'm angry at them...I will never talk to my child like they are stupid and incompetent because of a petty mistake...always keep your head up and don't care about what other people think...accept apologies before the ones who give them take them back...don't sink to your enemy's level...and finally, my personal quote that I've seen in rare situations: the truest friends always remain when the dust settles after a struggle. Have a great 2004 everyone.
