The Bloggies

January 10th, 2004

Discovered something cool today! The 4th Annual Bloggies, which are awards given to several different types of bloggers on the web, are actual real get-on-an-airplane-and-fly-somewhere awards! They're held in Austin, TX and given either certificates or contributed prizes. It's incredible! :D Of course, I know that my blog isn't well known enough (or talks about many interesting things) to be considered seriously for the Bloggies...and I don't even know if I'd fly all the way to TX either, lol. But still, I think it's pretty cool that they have them...there are tons of great blogs out there worth recognizing.

On a another note, I went to my first AFROTC class last week, hehe. It's going to be an interesting, but great, class! I'm frantically trying to finish a folder full of paperwork and some other things in order to get my uniforms by Tuesday. I need one for PT (physical training) and then a regular uniform, I'm not sure how many they give us. But dude, there were some pretty cute guys in my class, my flight, and in the overall detachment, hehe...(Kim you gotta come check it out, lol)....I've always preferred a man in a uniform...lol, my mom was like "Bring one home!" when I told her I was joining, it was great, lol. :) And really, I wouldn't be surprised (and neither would alot of people I know) if I actually did end up bringing home a military guy...the military has always been my life, I don't really predict it ceasing to be so anytime soon. Besides...with the experience I've had with non-military guys (and even one who was stereotypical and almost anti-military) I really want to try my luck with the other side now. And since I'm single and haven't crushed on anybody since my last boyfriend, I'm in the clear to move forward. :D Wooooohoooo!

Yesterday was Stina's 20th birthday!! Her mom and two brothers came up to see her...and we all went out to eat at Olive Garden with Margo (sorority big sis), Keith (her boyfriend), Grant, Nate and Katie, who are all Stina's closest friends here. I had a wonnnnderful time! After we ate we came back to the apartment (me, Margo and Katie made a detour to Target to get some wine) and just sat around and talked. Margo had bought Skyy Blue as well and I tried a bit of that and found it to be good stuff, hehe. Most people ended up leaving around 3am after we watched Ocean's 11, which is a great movie.

Ok, I need to get more film today and then run around taking pictures for my photography assignment due on Monday...and it just HAD to be cloudy today...lol, oh well..hopefully it will be sunnier tomorrow. :) Adios!
