My laptop has a line. No, not from a play or a poem.
Just suddenly last week, out of no where, a one pixel-width, yellow, vertical line appeared on the left side of my laptop's screen. I was baffled at first, but I knew it couldn't be a dead pixel or anything related to my graphics card. So I googled it and immediately (no joke) found this:
We found that a small number of 17” LCD displays shipped with Dell Inspiron 9200, 9300 and Dell XPS Gen 2 notebooks may develop a one-pixel wide vertical line may develop across the LCD screen over time...All of these shipped between December 2004 and December 2006. ~ Direct2Dell Blog
It was kind of shocking to find an answer so quickly and even more so about how exact the answer was. My laptop is, specifically, an Inspiron 9300 that was shipped in June 2005. Maybe I'm just not used to getting an answer right away when it comes to computers (or maybe Dell in particular, heh). But the blog also says that you can ship it back and they'll fix it for free, so I'll have to do that.
Also I heart
ASO for their ever quick updates to Wordpress. All I have to do is browse to Fantastico from my control panel and with two clicks my WP installation is updated to the latest version! So woot.
I worked hard today at my new job setting out a ton of holiday items in the housewares department. I almost wanted to buy several dish sets, they were so pretty! There are great big mugs for cocoa or coffee, large decorated bowls for candies and cookies, and so much more! All matching too!
Everything at Kohl's seems to be on sale right now as well. Lots of things for up to 50% off, at least in the housewares. That includes appliances and cook/bakeware too! Makes me want to redo my kitchen.
So I highly suggest you find the nearest store and shop all those good deals! Kohl's is awesome.

Sorry I have been sucking at visiting! I am so glad to hear you have a job! We are supposed to get a Kohls out here but I have been hearing that for over 5 years now. I will come catch up on your blog when I get some time.
Wow that sucks about the line on your laptop screen. I guess it’s good that you can just have it fixed but the hassle still is a pain, I’m sure. I hope it goes quickly and painlessly for you.
I can’t believe the holidays are almost here. Usually I don’t see all that much until after Thanksgiving but this year, I’ve been seeing things all over the place!
That sucks about the lap top… I have a Dell myself (Inspiron 640m) and I can say that I have been less than impressed with it since I received it in July this past summer. It’s alright, but Vista ran like complete crap on it, so I am still using XP (but it’s okay because I hated Vista anyway…) Anywho, I hope you get your laptop back in one nice piece with a working screen. I hope that never happens to mine!!

Wow it’s been so long since I last stopped by, and I do apologise for that. Damn addictive games.
That’s quite an interesting problem on your laptop. Good to hear that they can fix it for you and free of charge too. Nothing beats that kind of service, hehe.
It’s so good to hear that you have a job now. I don’t think we have a Kohls over here, but their stuff looks really cute. I wouldn’t mind buying a few of those sets.
Do dell people actually comment on blogs? That is a first for me. Anyhow Miss Working Girl I tagged you!
Hmmm, well I most certainly wouldn’t trust that comment that ‘apparently’ comes from Dell. It look likes it could be just another smart way to phish for your personal information. They probably scour the internet for any web sites that mention Dell and then contact that site claiming to be able to help either by email or in this case, a blog comment. Grr!
Stopping by to say hi! From Lake Tansi, Tennessee! They have internet here at the office of the resort but the walk to here is like, 1 mile? ANd we both know I ain’t doin that. Having internet withdrawals… WoW withdrawals…. Eegads I need the internet world!!!]
Weird about your laptop. This only means I have to check my laptop to see if it ddoes that and ask my step-dad…
See you the 30th!! Tell people we mutualy know hello!!! <3 <3 <3 :art:
I’m in love with your site header
Thats too bad about your screen, at least you can get it fixed though. You scared me at first–I have a Dell Inspiron and thought at first it was possible to happen to mine fairly soon. I have a different model though..phew.
I love Kohls, I wish I had one around here so I could take advantage of those sales!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you!!!!
I’m thinking about getting a Dell Laptop - the Inspiron - they seem good and pricey. Hope you got yours fixed
Wow that sucks about your laptop. I recently discovered that half of my monitor is blurry too and I didn’t buy the extended warranty on it.
Regarding your last post, I LOVE Sim City games too. I’ll def. have to check out Sim City Societies.
