A conversation I had with Jess about the new HP Blackbird gaming desktop:
Me: i'm just expecting to see something like "choose your rocket launcher type" as one of the options
Jess: lmao
Me: or "wind power" as a power type
Me: burn some coal and gasoline to keep this beast running
Me: install a big ol fan in your backyard
Jess: lmao
Me: tornado weather = hardcore gaming time
Jess: LMAO
Me: just imagine me sitting with some big headphones on in a huge windy tornado storm with lightning flashing every .5 seconds screaming "HELL YEAH BIOTCH GIMMIE THAT POWER!!!"
Me: as i pwn wif epix
Me: hehe![]()
Jess: omg mel hahahaha
Jess: yous crazzzy
Me: ya but that's why i'm cool![]()
Jess: uh huh!!!
Ha ha, right? I wasn't even joking about the Blackbird. That thing is insane. PC Gamer gave it a 97% rating (which is apparently the highest rating they've ever given a system) and a coveted Editor's Choice Award. No surprise there, because the specs are literally off the wow-factor charts.
- Industry standard components for excessive configuration.
- Full system liquid cooling that keeps the machine super quiet.
- Thermals for heat isolation and counter-contamination.
- Easy access with removable side panel, lighting, and wiring.
- Tool-less upgrades allowing all components to be easily removed/installed.
- Flexible overclocking that gives the user control over it.
Hella nice. I wish I could afford its hefty price range of $2,500 to $6,500. Actually, a coworker just went through the customization process choosing all the most high end stuff and he was averaging over $10,000! For a desktop! Holy motherboard...
Even though that is a very nice system, I think if I were to upgrade I'd probably go for an Alienware or a Dell XPS. I am obsessed with gaming but I'm not hardcore enough to splurge on the Blackbird. I'm still somewhat frugal in that respect. ;D
So what is your setup? Desktop or laptop? Efficient or super powerful? I'm curious.

Thanks for the responses, everyone! I love hearing about techie stuff like this!
