PS3 Mania!

November 17th, 2006
Today was the launch of Sony's Playstation 3! I can't afford it, of course, but it still looks wicked cool and I wouldn't mind owning one! Hehe. :P
PS3
Needless to say, between the slide show, music playback, web browser, and video downloads, both the Memory Stick and the PSP are going to have some very useful applications within the PlayStation 3. It's going to be very cool to show off some basic JPEGs on an HDTV, especially in the form that Sony's presenting. It's not reinventing the wheel, but it will get peoples' attention for sure. Also, the music playback is great, and while I haven't ripped a CD, instead, focusing on dropping my own content on the system, the accompanying visualizations are great. Hopefully, there will be a patch to update the system so that gamers can use custom soundtracks; as of now, the only sounds people will hear during Resistance are the garbled utterances of disgusting multi-eyed aliens and lots of gunfire. For more on the system, check out our overviews of the PS3's video outputs and backwards compatibility!
Via GameSpy. :bouncy: I have a regular PS2 for all my video gaming needs (non-PC of course, hehe) and it still works pretty good. Maybe when I move next year Chaz and I will buy one and share it, hehe. He says he wants an Xbox...wish I could buy one for him. :( Maybe I'll win the lottery... :hehe:
