Awaiting the Rain

September 4th, 2004
So, in the wake of oncoming Frances I have decided to prepare myself with a list of things to keep me busy as the wind whips around my apartment this weekend. 8) I just got back from a Blockbuster spree where I rented the following movies:
Thirteen Ghosts Deep Impact Ella Enchanted
I had wanted to get a bunch of elemental disaster movies like Twister and stuff but ironically they were already taken except for Deep Impact. :) Altogether I think it's a good film balance. Comedy/cutsie, drama/action, horror/suspense. Great for a stormy night or day. I also rented one video game as well: Dark Cloud 2! I've heard good things about it...haven't played the first one but it doesn't seem to be a sequel to a storyline I would miss so I'm not worried. Now if at any time my power does decide to go out I have stuff I can do that doesn't require electricity. I have magazines I can read as well as some books. Then there is the climbing amount of reading I need to do for classes, eh...but who wants to do that. ;) My mp3 player and battery-powered radio are charged and ready to help me pass the time. And then finally, while at Wal-Mart the other day, I bought knitting supplies. Yes folks...I intend to learn how to knit....and if I don't come out of this storm alive and carrying a fully completed washcloth then my power going out would be a waste. :D Hehe. Plugs: Moe, Branille, Melanie, and Sarah! Also, thanks to the Trommeter Times for linking my previous entry on Hurricane Frances! Anyone who's interested can check it out here! They used a cool topic streaming site called WayPath to find my post. I like it lots. Hurricane Frances: Safety Tips :o
