First of all I'd like to welcome you to my site with it's newly installed blog software Wordpress! I did not create this layout (with the green dotty and pixel-y looking graphic above) or the others listed under the 'style' section of the right sidebar...those came with the blog installation. I am totally going to update this place with a rockin' new layout as soon as I get home this weekend! Yeehaw. Horay! I've been reading people's journals and watching the Weather Channel and I'm so glad that the damage was minimal in the places where my friends are! Of course I'm sending up alot of prayers for Punta Gorda, Captiva, Port Charlotte, etc, who were hit pretty badly by the hurricane...but I'm just so thankful that Tampa, Orlando, and Fort Myers were only side-swiped and not hit with the full force...or at least I hope so. :o I was supposed to leave today from my parents' house to head back home to O-town but Charley cancelled my flight, lol...apparently there's tons of debris all over the airport over there and part of the roof was ripped off. Last night on the Weather Channel they showed St. Petersburg Int. Airport's roof getting blown away...I hope it isn't that bad in Orlando. Anyhoo, I'm supposed to be leaving later this evening but we're not even sure if the airport over in FL will get cleaned up by then...we're supposed to check back before we head over to catch my flight. :o According to the news on Yahoo, Charley has been downgraded to a tropical storm after it hit North Carolina today. So Florida got the most damage done out of the USA by Charley. Here is a list of articles with inside info on how much damage the hurricane caused and who it affected.
