Eye of the Storm

Hurricane Frances at 2pm
All I have to say is not again! I wasn't in the Sunshine State during Charley but I didn't exactly miss seeing trees fly by my window and roofs being blown off of houses. If Frances does hit it's not going to be very pretty...maybe even worse than our previous battle with the elements. Even weeks following Charley's sweep across Florida there still are piles of debris and fallen trees littering yards, parking lots and roads here in O-town. If this new hurricane decides to visit us here over the weekend you can expect all of those loose pieces leftover from Charley's party to become live projectiles in the 100+ mph wind speed of Frances' upcoming charge through central Florida. :x Doesn't sound very cool to me. I hope everyone on the east coast stays safe if it actually hits us this week. UPDATE @ 5:20pm: I just got an email from my university saying that as of 10pm tonight all classes will be suspended until further notice pending the outcome of the storm. Freaky...I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. The email says for us to figure out where the nearest shelter is located and plan to head there if advised in the next few days. I had thought of maybe traveling to the west coast to escape Frances but I'm not sure if I have enough gas or money in my budget to finance the trip...I should buy some supplies though in case I'm stranded over here in some form. Good luck everyone! Plugs: Moe, Jane, Karen, Mallory, Roxzy, Michelle, Tarah, Melanie, Sarah, Branille, and Jojo! w00t! :)

Hey babe, well Im sticking it out here. praying for it to turn. Is stina gonna be with you this weekend or no? :worried:

Melissa Sep 01, 2004

Nope, Stina won’t be here she’s a-goin’ home, hehe. It’s cool though, I haven’t decided whether I’m going to leave yet or not…but I heard on the radio that it was actually only expected to be a category 2 hurricane when it reached us so I don’t think its that big of a deal I guess. Oh well! :) Hope you stay safe, Kimmie!
