Go away, Jeanne!

Hurricane Jeanne

This doesn't look good, everyone. My boss tried to go to Publix this morning and its already swamped with people, hogging carts and grabbing/squabbling over supplies. I've heard of Home Depot and Lowe's again selling out of plywood and other hardware because of the rush of Floridians who have to board up their homes once more. We've seen enough! Can't Mother Nature go bother Antartica for a change? :(

One thing I've noticed lately about all this hurricane stuff is how angry people are right now that this is happening. I'm not saying that they don't have a right to be upset about the bizarre weather events that have been slamming our state this past month...it's just as I've been around Orlando during my normal routines people seem to be griping about the weather as if it's somebody's fault. Like the teller at the bank or the guy in front of you who drives slow or the person who grabs the last case of bottled water at the grocery store.

Seriously people, the world works on its own. The weather doesn't function according to moodswings or luck. It just happens. If you've ever seen Men In Black II you'll remember the end where the alien princess goes back to her planet and it starts to rain because she is sad that she's leaving earth.

Ok, bad example...but still! No one should be getting worked up and blaming other people for what's going on. It's not the Home Depot guy's fault if they run out of plywood and it's not the cashier's fault that the store ran out of canned soup!

I'm tired of the weather, you're tired of the weather, the whole freakin' state of Florida is sick of losing our houses and having street signs and shingles blow into our windows and all of our trees and landscaping ruined. It hurts tourism, which of course is a HUGE part of Florida's economy. I mean, can you imagine the losses that Disney and Universal are experiencing because of the so small amount of northerners who usually number in the thousands that grace the theme parks? Mickey weeps, I tell you.

Yes...so, I hope people around here realize soon that hurricanes and weather are something that currently cannot be helped. All we can do is try to protect our houses and the people we love, and pray.

Hurricane Jeanne - Tensions Rising?
People are pissed. All Floridians are tired of getting pummelted by storm after storm. As a matter of fact the last time a state was hit by four hurricanes in one year was 1886 (Texas). However, in typical American fashion…

Waiting
This is Jeanne’s current postition, right in my backyard. In Florida we are, as usual, just waiting for the storm. I’m going with the flow and keeping updated. All too many of my weekends have been ruined; I’m so tired of this. Blogs talking about …
