I tried to cook some fish today for lunch, flounder to be exact, in oil on a skillet. I thawed the filet, covered it in flour and heated the oil. Then I proceeded to flip the fish onto the skillet. My lesson learned today was to never "flip" something into a pan of seriously hot oil. The result will be, literally, a wave of said hot oil splashing everywhere. The oil hit my left hand and scalded it in several places...NOT fun, let me tell you.
There's a picture on the right, not sure how well you can see the burn spots. There are about nine in total. I immediately ran my hand under cold water for a few minutes...now it's wrapped lightly in some gauze, from the advice of some websites I found about burn treatments.
It hurts!
Guess I learned my cooking lesson for the day.
At least ur first aid certified.

I’ve done that before… Except I wasn’t wearing a shirt at the time, so yeah, I had burns from the splattered oil all over my stomach and arm too…
Thanks, Mel! :bouncy:
