Designer’s Block

July 7th, 2006
I need a new design for my site. I remember the good ol' days, back in the beginning of GA.net's early years, when I would sit down for hours to hand-code my own layouts. These past few years have been hectic with college, and other things, and my poor little site has been suffering under the weight of a tweaked-theme-gloom. :weep: Not that this style is bad or anything...I just miss the days when I could literally call my stuff my own. I don't particularly have superhero programming skills, so I unfortunately can't leave Wordpress anytime soon to create my own CMS. That would be incredible if I could do that though. I would literally want to hug my website every day.  It's just frustrating, like writer's block. And I'm angry at my school for not teaching me more of this stuff. Why am I paying thousands of dollars to go to classes like "Statistics" and "Human Species" and crap which has filled up the last three years of my time here. I don't care if it could make me more "well rounded", I went to highschool to learn about generic things and in college I want to learn about things specific to my interests! What is so hard about that?! This is the summer before my senior year and I am just now in the core of my degree program, which is Digital Media. I've barely designed a website since highschool, aside from tweaking my own. Some would say the answer is "go to a tech school"...my parents would answer "four year degree". Oh well. I taught myself the majority of what I know, I guess I'm still on my own from here.
EDIT 7.8.06: Bwahaha! I spent all night last night creating this new layout! Booyah, UCF, take that! :woot:
